Pause live TV & DVR

May 23 – Jun 16 · 7 releases

2.0Pause live TV, scheduled recording, rebuilt playerMay 23, 2026

The biggest update up to that point.

  • Pause live TV: a rolling buffer (60 minutes by default, up to 4 hours) to pause, rewind, fast-forward, and jump back to live.
  • Scheduled recordings from the guide: long-press a future program, including "record every airing". Schedules survive a reboot.
  • Record to a NAS or USB drive, with separate locations for the live buffer and recordings.
  • Rebuilt movie and show player: fewer frame drops, accelerated seeking, faster start from Continue Watching, real audio and subtitle pickers.
  • Trakt integration: scrobbling, Continue Watching sync across devices, and Trending / Recommended / Upcoming rows.
  • Full-bleed detail pages with backdrop art; a stream-info indicator showing the resolution and formats actually playing.
2.0.1 – 2.0.6Stability and custom categoriesJun 1 – 16
  • Restored older 32-bit TV boxes; fixed a launch crash, preview audio overlap, stream-start glitches, and a first-load layout jolt.
  • Cross-provider custom categories: build channel categories that mix providers, set up on the dashboard and synced to the TV.
  • Background guide updates no longer slow the TV down on lower-powered boxes.
July 2026

Built for the biggest providers

Jul 4 – Jul 17 · 4 releases

2.1.0Catalog performance overhaulJul 4
  • Guide, Live TV, and Movies/Shows open instantly, even with tens of thousands of channels and titles. Biggest gains on lower-powered boxes.
  • Country and language filtering: tell TIVRA what you watch and it hides the rest.
  • Duplicate versions collapsed: one poster per title with a version picker on the detail page.
2.1.2Better USB recordingJul 9
  • Record to more USB drives without reformatting; a remote-friendly picker for internal, USB, or network destinations.
  • Recordings named after the program, not a channel number. Fixed the "Syncing…" hang for live-TV-only setups.
2.2.0Cross-provider search & sync managementJul 17
  • Search across all your providers at once, sorted by popularity, with no result cap.
  • Force a provider sync on demand; faster automatic channel updates and accurate per-provider expiry dates.
August 2026

A new look, your own library

Aug 11 · 1 release

3.0New look, your own media library, phone controlAug 11, 2026

The biggest release since launch.

  • A completely redrawn interface: deeper blacks, sharper type, one consistent highlight colour on every screen.
  • Your own media library: connect Jellyfin or Emby, or point TIVRA at a network share. Posters, plots, cast, Continue Watching, and Next Up, with progress synced both ways.
  • Multi-View: up to four live channels at once, mixing providers, with one-press audio switching.
  • Dashboard control from your phone: set up providers, organise channels, send a movie to the TV, or schedule a recording. Changes sync within seconds.
  • Trakt scrobbling covers your own library too. Back reliably closes menus; focus no longer gets lost in dialogs.
Late Aug – early Sep 2026

A new live TV engine

Aug 24 – Sep 3 · 7 releases

3.1.2 – 3.1.8Faster channel changes, captions, auto-recoveryAug 24 – Sep 3
3.1.2 – 3.1.3 Aug 24

Live TV moved to a brand-new playback engine: faster channel changes, tighter sync, automatic recovery when a stream hiccups. Pause and rewind now work on single-connection accounts. The UI scale slider now resizes the whole app for couch distance. Rename channels from the dashboard, and a simplified categories mode that shows only your custom categories in Live TV. Connections are freed within seconds of leaving a channel; clearer messaging when a connection limit is hit.

3.1.4 – 3.1.5 Aug 28 – 29

Smarter search that shows what's airing now, automatic reconnection for frozen streams, a recording storage limit with cleanup, per-provider stream-format and country settings.

3.1.6 Aug 30

Auto-play the next episode for provider shows and your own library. Long-press to remove Continue Watching cards. Subtitle size, background, and position options; an always-show-clock toggle; real playback controls on phones.

3.1.7 Sep 2

Closed captions on live TV. An aspect-ratio button with five modes. Multi-provider users always play from the right service. Faster movie start and skipping.

3.1.8 Sep 3

Channel lists and the guide keep the highlighted row centred while scrolling. New guide shortcuts. Plain-language errors within a second when a provider refuses a stream, instead of a black screen.

September 2026

Sports Hub

Sep 9 – Sep 14 · 3 releases · on Google Play

3.2Sports HubSep 9, 2026
  • A new Sports page: every game of the day across NFL, NBA, WNBA, MLB, NHL, MLS, college football and basketball, and the major European soccer leagues, matched to channels you already have. Press once to preview, again for full screen.
  • Live scores, standings, and box scores with player stats. A hide-scores option for spoiler-free viewing.
  • Choose which leagues show and in what order.
  • Skip intro and play next episode for shows; Continue Watching rows on the Movies and Series pages.
  • TIVRA is now on the Google Play Store.
3.2.1Sports Multi-ViewSep 11
  • Multi-View for sports: open every game in progress in one press, or save custom views with 2, 4, 6, or 8 screens, each set to a channel, a league's next game, or one of your teams.
  • Change channel inside Multi-View, grouped by games in progress, upcoming games, and your sports channels.
  • Game matching searches every provider you have. Add your own channels to the Sports channel list.
  • Reorder or hide home rows and the left menu, from the TV or the dashboard's Layout tab, synced across devices.
3.2.2Sports Multi-View, finishedSep 14
  • Every channel carrying a game, across every provider, grouped by provider and network. Your pick for a game sticks.
  • More accurate game matching; Multi-View screens show the live score and status instead of the channel name.
  • "Back to previous view" reopens the exact grid you left. Frozen screens can be reloaded and reconnect on their own.
  • Faster Multi-View start-up and channel lookups; a dedicated Sports tab on the dashboard.
3.3.0Sports Hub, expandedSep 16
  • 42 leagues: cricket, rugby, AFL, NRL, the Championship, FA Cup, Scottish Premiership, Eredivisie, Liga MX, Libertadores, CFL, UFL, G League, college baseball and hockey, and more. Defaults follow your region.
  • Organised for it: a Live now row, sport filters with a colour per sport, rows ordered by your teams and live games, a Browse more strip and See all grids.
  • Hold OK on a game opens its channels and the box score, so stats work on remotes without a Play button. One-table box score in the info panel.
  • Your Watchlist row on Home from Trakt; add several sports channels at once; Multi-View fixed on Google TV Streamer.
3.3.2International soccer, switch a game's source, your own guideSep 24
  • 16 national-team competitions join the Sports Hub: the World Cup, Nations Leagues, the Euros, Gold Cup, Copa América, AFCON and qualifying; event sports too — PGA and LPGA, Formula 1, NASCAR, IndyCar, ATP, WTA and UFC. 72 leagues across 13 sports.
  • Change source without losing the game: hold OK while watching, or on a Multi-View screen, and pick another channel carrying the same match.
  • Bring your own XMLTV guide, synced with your account, alongside or instead of your provider's. Add an M3U link straight from the app with its own guide address.
  • The channel sidebar opens on categories; FF and RW page every list; hold OK in Catch-up to jump between days; 24-hour clock; sort choices stick.
3.3.3Providers & Guide on one pageSep 27
  • Status tab: every provider on one screen with when its playlist and guide last updated, row by row as it syncs. Providers and EPG tabs beside it.
  • One bad provider no longer stops the guide for everyone; a new provider gets its guide within seconds; three days of guide on the device and an every-3-hours option.
  • Sports Hub matching sharpened: package slots like "NHL 03: Sabres @ Penguins" stay current, nicknames count when the channel names the league.
  • The guide database compacts itself after every sync — a Shield at 1.9 GB dropped to 1.1 GB.
3.3.4Categories on the left, a new-look Guide, Stalker portalsOct 4, 2026
  • Categories now live on the left: press LEFT from the first column or hold BACK anywhere on Live TV, the Guide, Movies, Series and Catch-up. Hold OK on one to move or hide it, synced to your account.
  • The Guide has a new look: info panel and preview on top, seven channel rows, the NOW line down the grid. Channel Up/Down and Page Up/Down page the rows; LEFT and RIGHT move along time.
  • Sync and Guide buttons on every provider row plus Refresh all guides; a full refresh is faster, lighter and never freezes the box, and shows what it is doing step by step.
  • Sports Hub offers every provider's channels for a game; Multi-View picks games by sport; tidier channel lists.
  • Jellyfin and Emby remember where you stopped, updated while you watch. Stalker Portal (MAC) is a provider type. Movies and Series categories can be reordered and hidden from the dashboard. Settings › About › Send diagnostics.

Looking back

What six months of releases add up to

Performance is never "done".

Three engine-level rewrites so far: the 2.0 movie player, the 2.1 catalog overhaul, and the 3.1 live TV engine. Lower-powered boxes called out every time.

All your providers, one app.

Cross-provider search, custom categories that mix providers, collapsed duplicates, and Multi-View pulling from several providers at once.

Built for a remote.

Nearly every release carries focus, scrolling, and Back-button fixes. Small work, but it is what makes a TV app feel right.

Beyond live TV.

From a live TV player to your own library, Trakt sync, DVR, and a full Sports Hub with live scores.
